Alicia is from Springfield, Massachusetts and graduated from Elmhurst College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She chose the nursing field because it challenges her to think critically and outside the box in order to help her patients. Nursing also allows her to be present and personable with her patients. Alicia enjoys helping them get through the difficult and delicate times in their lives. Alicia feels that a career in nursing is rewarding because she also gets to be a part of her patients’ little victories. She enjoys applying her strengths to her work and making a difference in people’s lives. Alicia also acknowledges that nursing can provide her with other opportunities for professional development. Prior to her nursing career, she worked with organizations that focused on helping the Latino community improve its overall health. Alicia hopes to continue educating her patients about health care in her fulfilling field.
