Dalene Diaz

Darlene Diaz recently graduated from East Los Angeles College of Nursing and is preparing to take her NCLEX or National Council Licensure Examination to start practicing as a nurse. Being able to balance family and school was a struggle for Darlene, but she received support from instructors that understand the demands of college. When her mother was diagnosed with cancer, it was her teacher that helped her adjust her schedule so that she could give her mother the assistance and time that she needed. Her mother has always been there for her, as well as her older sister who is a nurse. Recently she has been helping her sister turn a rundown liquor store in East Los Angeles into an establishment that offers the community somethings more, something healthier and inspiring for the community.
